Areas of Specialty

Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)

Have you been told from childhood that you are particularly sensitive? Do you find yourself feeling things more deeply than others, leading you to encounter both internal and external judgment? Do you find yourself more reactive to the world than those around you? If so, it can be easy to focus on the more “inconvenient” aspects of your sensitivity and less on the outstandingly beautiful ones. Together, we’ll walk through the unique intricacies that make up the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)— such as overstimulation, high stress, and emotional sensitivity— while celebrating its inherent strengths— such as creativity, intuition, and empathy. Understanding and embracing your HSP makeup while implementing helpful coping strategies can help you navigate the world with greater confidence and ease. Read more here.

Motherhood Identity

There is no doubt that the perinatal period is wild. Physiological, hormonal, mental, and relational shifts are running rampant. Not only that, but you are quite literally creating a new identity. This shift is so significant that anthropologist Dana Raphael created a term for it, “matrescence” — which is defined as the process of becoming a mother. While this process is universal, every mother experiences it in their own unique way. Whether you are in the process of trying to conceive or are well into motherhood, still trying to make sense of your new life, I’d be honored to support you in your journey. Read my blog post on motherhood here.

Individuation is the process a person undergoes when creating a sense of individuality separate from the identities of others, beginning to consciously exist in the world. There is a lot going on during this time of life, and these thoughts may be coming up for you:

  • I’m realizing things about my family of origin that I’ve never realized before, and I want to process.

  • This job is not what I expected. What do I do?

  • My faith is struggling. What do I even believe?

This life transition has you feeling overwhelmed, and you’re not sure where to go from here. You’re in the right place — both your season of life and in seeking out counseling. Together we will wrestle with your purpose + identity while strengthening your sense of self through exploration. Learn more here.

Anxiety + Stress

Are you experiencing excessive worry, nervousness, or stress that’s affecting your daily life? Whether it’s impacting your relationships, job, outlook on life, health, or all of the above, it doesn’t have to be this way. There is hope for change, and you’re not too late. There is no better time to seek out therapy. Together, we will learn more about your anxiety, taking a curious and mindful approach, while building compassion for yourself. I’ll provide psychoeducation on nervous system health and emotional regulation to equip you along the way.

Faith Deconstruction / Reconstruction

Are you experiencing a crisis of faith? Perhaps you are doubting your beliefs — whether for the first time, or for what feels like the millionth time — and it is causing you to feel shame, confusion, isolation, and disconnection from God and your community. Firstly, you are brave and courageous. It is difficult to admit that we don’t know and will never know “all the answers”. Secondly, you are not alone or “other”. This process is an essential step to a more authentic, full, mature, and personal faith. Together we will welcome + wade through the uncertainty and questioning that naturally occurs during this time. With time and reflection, this stage will give way to a more comfortable + solid place.

Life Transitions

You may have heard the Heraclitus quote before: “There is nothing more constant than change.” How we respond to a particular change is deeply connected to how we are doing mentally in that particular season. If you’re finding yourself significantly impacted by a specific change in your life (i.e. moving, new ADHD diagnosis, starting/graduating college or grad school, relationship changes, etc.), it’s likely that your mind + body are asking for some attention. Let’s find out what you need and get it — while acknowledging the inherent discomfort and stress that naturally comes with change.
